WasteDiversions: Sculpture and Collage from New York’s Waste Stream
March 29 – October 4, 2012
Opening reception March 29, 6-9 pm

MFTA Gallery is pleased to present WasteDiversions: Sculpture and Collage from New York’s Waste Stream, an exhibition of new sculpture and collage by artists from MFTA recipients Culture Push and Vaudeville Park, as well as participants in Friends of MFTA’s open studio program.

Weighing in at 14 million tons annually, New York City’s waste stream is imposing. Yet when approached from a creative perspective, overlooked and unneeded objects from the waste stream become inspiration for the City’s artists and makers. WasteDiversions features more than 20 works in a range of media, which highlight the artistic potential and charms of objects found at MFTA.

Please join us for a reception Thursday, March 29, 6-9 pm, featuring a performance by Ian M. Colletti of Vaudeville Park.
